Classroom Jobs

Job System Explanation

Jobs will be explained to students and modeled by teacher and students. Students will practice jobs for about a month, as well, to master task. Students will start at Line Leader and move their way through the list having each job for one day. The selection process is alphabetical. This serves two purposes: 1) It helps students become familiar with the alphabet 2) It helps me if a student is absent I just skip them that day and they keep their place in line for a job when they return. Students earn rewards for the class when they do an acceptable job. For each day and job done well a puff ball will be added to Reward Jar for entire class. When jar is full, then the students will vote on which reward they would like to redeem. I think students should think of the classroom as a family and we take care of our family, so the reward should be earned/shared by the family as a whole. When a student is having difficulty fulfilling their job that day: 1) they will initially get a reminder of job duty expectations and why there are expectations 2) They will receive a warning of what will happen next if the behavior continues 3) The job will be taken away and they can try again next time it is their turn.
